RawDrop
Privacy policy
RawDrop is an app by Dominik Roszkowski. It copies photos from a camera to your phone over Wi-Fi. This policy explains what the app does with data.
Summary
- RawDrop does not collect personal data.
- RawDrop has no account, no ads, no analytics and no crash reporting.
- RawDrop does not send data to the developer or to third parties.
Data on your device
- Photos. Photos you download from your camera are saved in the app folder on your device and, if you turn this on, in your photo library (album "RawDrop"). They do not leave your device unless you share them.
- Settings. The app saves its pairing ID, the name it shows on the camera and the IP address of the last camera on your device.
- When you delete the app, the app folder and the settings are deleted. Photos in your photo library stay there.
Network
- RawDrop connects only to your camera: on your Wi-Fi, on your phone's hotspot or on the camera's own Wi-Fi.
- To find the camera, the app looks for it on the local network. It does not contact servers on the internet.
Permissions
- Local network: to find and connect to the camera.
- Wi-Fi: to join the camera's Wi-Fi in "Send to Smartphone" mode.
- NFC: to read the Wi-Fi details from the camera's N mark.
- Photo library (add only): to save downloaded photos.
- USB (Android): to pair the camera with a USB cable, if you choose this option.
Pairing website
The pairing page at roszkowski.dev/rawdrop runs in your browser and talks to the camera over USB on your computer. It does not upload data. The page is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub can log technical data such as your IP address under the GitHub Privacy Statement.
Children
RawDrop is not directed at children and does not collect data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new effective date.
